Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes!

This time of year can be joyous and wonderful, filled with family, friends and delicious food. It can also be stressful. Whether you are worried about spending time with your more difficult relatives, or about how you will enjoy holiday feasts without feeling miserable - there are plenty of things that can quickly take you from excited to overwhelmed.
I believe in the power and pleasure of sharing a delicious meal with family and friends. Food is so many things - a way to share love, receive comfort, sustain traditions. It can also be a source of anxiety, a way to disguise negative emotions, or trigger food allergies. It’s complicated. Regardless of your relationship with food, your particular sensitivities, or your health and wellness goals, it is important to continue to find joy in sharing a meal with others, especially on special occasions.
Trying to find a middle ground is key. It’s okay to be flexible, to eat things you might normally avoid, or indulge a little more than usual. It’s also okay to be the person showing up to Thanksgiving with your own special side dish that you know will make you feel happy, healthy and nourished.
I love finding modified versions of classic Thanksgiving dishes that allow me to stick to the dietary restrictions that align with my values and support my health. Below are a few of my favorites!
Healthy Vegan Green Bean Casserole - by The Endless Meal

Easy Gluten Free Stuffing - by Food Faith Fitness

Roasted Squash Blossom - by My Man’s Belly

Gluten Free Apple Crisp - by Our Salty Kitchen

While I never encourage restrictive or fad dieting, there are some wonderful options out there if you are looking for additional support on your wellness journey. Here is an awesome list of the best plans! https://www.consumersadvocate.org/diet-plans
